Why do I need to provide documentation to list a rental?
To keep our Rentals platform safe, Zillow may request documentation as additional verification to confirm the accuracy and authenticity of a listing. For more information, please visit our Listings Quality Policy:
https://www.zillow.com/rentals-network/listings-quality-policy/ (Sections 1.2, 4.4)
We understand this process may cause inconveniences and appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the integrity of our platform.
How do I know if additional verification is required for my listing?
Any listing requiring additional verification will be removed from our Rentals platform, and cannot be re-published until the verification process is complete. Your Zillow Rental Manager access may be additionally disabled.
You should have received an email with the subject line ‘Additional verification needed for your Zillow Account.’ The email includes a one-time link to our secure upload portal.
If you can't find the email in your inbox, please check your spam, junk folders, and any additional email accounts associated with your Zillow listing(s).
If the link provided in the email is expired, you may also access the upload portal directly from the Zillow Rental Manager website. Note that the verification link is ONLY accessible from the website. Verification is NOT currently accessible from the mobile app.
**Zillow will never contact you by phone, or through your rental listing messages, to verify your listing. Be wary of any documentation requests from illegitimate sources.
Documentation will be requested only via the direct notification email, and the upload portal link will be directly accessible from the Zillow Rental Manager website.**
Does Zillow use third parties to verify my listing?
The secure upload portal is provided by a trusted vendor, Persona, which is prohibited from processing or sharing your information for any purpose other than to verify your documents on Zillow’s behalf. For more information, please see Persona’s Privacy Policy.
