How can I tell which properties accept the Zillow application?
If a rental property accepts the Zillow application, you’ll see an ‘Apply Now’ button on the listing.
If you do not see the ‘Apply now’ button, you first need to connect with the landlord regarding their application process as they may or may not be using our application service. You can do so by clicking ‘Request to apply’ or contacting the property manager through the contact box.
What does the $35.00 application fee include?
- Unlimited use of the Zillow application at participating properties* for 30 days
- Generating credit reports and background checks
*Landlords must have Zillow applications enabled for the rental property. Please refer to this article for more information.
Is the application fee a recurring charge?
No, the Zillow application fee is a one-time fee. You can purchase additional 30-day time periods as needed.
I paid the application fee twice, can I have a refund?
If you paid the application fee within the last 30 days and are prompted to pay again, please make sure to log into the same account you used for the previous purchase. If you accidentally paid the fee twice using two separate accounts, please contact our support team at rentalapplications@zillow.com for assistance.**
**Please note, if you are applying with a co-applicant, each person will need to purchase the Zillow application separately.
Please refer to our Help Center article here for more information.
What are scenarios that are NOT eligible for a refund?
While Zillow provides a rental application that may be used on the Zillow platform, all decisions regarding tenant selection are made solely by the agent, homeowner, landlord, or property manager responsible for the listing. Therefore, the following scenarios are not eligible for a refund:
- If you successfully applied to a property and it is no longer available
- If you applied to a property, but have not heard back from the landlord
- If you paid the application fee, but the landlord is requesting you to apply outside of Zillow. While not eligible for a refund, this may be a violation of our terms of use. Please let us know if this has happened to you so we can take appropriate action.
In each case, we encourage you to continue applying to other participating properties for the duration of your 30-day window. Please note, this list is not intended to be exhaustive and there may be other scenarios that are not eligible for refund.
