What happened to rental protection?
After thorough consideration, we have decided to retire Rental Protection permanently as of 10/31/24 11:59 PT.
We understand that changes like these can be inconvenient, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to streamline our offerings and improve your overall experience.
Please be assured that your current coverage under Rental Protection remains valid through its expiration date. You can continue to file any claims related to your coverage up until the end of its term. Our support team is here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have during this transition.
We are committed to providing you with the best possible service and are continually evaluating our features to ensure they meet your needs. If you have any feedback or suggestions, we would love to hear from you.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a valued part of our Zillow community.
Will this affect my ability to file a claim?
No, you can still file a claim through your manage policy page. See “how to file a claim”
Can I cancel my policy now?
Yes, if you would like to cancel your policy now please sign into Zillow Rental manager and go to the property card where you will see the banner right under the address at the top of the screen. After clicking the banner, it will take you to the "Policy Details" page of the policy you wish to cancel. On the right hand side you will see a “Manage” button drop down. Click the drop down and select “Cancel”.
Who can I reach out to for help/support?
Our customer care team will still be here to assist you at rentalprotection@zillowinsuranceservices.com for any questions or concerns you may have.
Can I renew my policy after it ends?
We will not be able to support renewals after 10/31/24 11:59 PT at this time. Once your policy term ends you may file a claim as needed, but there will not be an ability to extend or renew your policy further. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
When is the last day to get a policy?
In order to move forward with getting a policy you must have a signed lease in your leases step (step 5) by 10/31/24 11:59 PT. Additionally, your lease term must start on or before 12/29/24. You will need to sign and submit your request for coverage on or before 12/29/24.
Any requests that have not completed these steps by the given dates will not be able to purchase a policy.
How will this affect my policy?
Currently active policies will not be impacted and you will continue to have full coverage through the end of your policy term. Instructions for filing a claim remain the same and can be found here.
