What’s conditional approval?	Some parts of the country require certain landlords to follow a process called conditional approval. When you look at any application, you’ll see all parts except the criminal history section. If, based on the rest of the application, you decide you’d like to rent to this applicant, you can choose to either approve them outright or mark them as “conditionally approved.” If you then choose to formally decline an applicant, you may need to follow additional steps.
What happens if I conditionally approve an applicant, and then decide to withdraw the approval?	If you decide, based on the criminal history section, that you need to withdraw conditional approval, you may need to take more steps before you can officially decline an application. This may include: Performing a detailed review of the applicant’s criminal history to ensure that your decision to decline is fair and justified Providing a written notice of denial Providing a copy of the background check used to make this decision Some areas may require you to disclose this to your applicant prior to beginning your screening process.
