How does it work?
Home shoppers can request a tour of homes they’re interested in with the tap of a button on Zillow and Trulia, making it easier to get a face-to-face meeting with a new client.
After a customer picks a property to see, they enter their contact info and desired date and time for a home tour. We call Premier Agents based on their share of voice to find one available to show that home. The home shopper and agent then receive each other's contact information by text and email so the agent can follow up and confirm the tour.
Where is it available?
Shoppers can submit tour requests in select ZIP codes in all 50 states.
How do tour connections show up in the inbox and how should I respond?
After you accept a tour connection, the app will send you a push notification with information about the property, the buyer, and an easy way to add the tour to your calendar. You will also see the lead in your inbox. The lead will read, “This lead requested a property tour. Schedule it now."
You will then need to organize the tour and confirm that the property is available before reaching out to the buyer to confirm the tour. If the property is unavailable, you will need to work with the buyer to find an alternative time that works for both of you. Once you’ve connected with the buyer, plan your tour the same way you would for any other real estate lead. For example, you could suggest meeting at another location before continuing on to the property.
What if I’m not available at the requested time
If you aren’t available to tour the home at the requested time, no problem. We’ll try the next available agent, and you won’t lose your place in the queue. We’ll still call you with the next opportunity.
What if the home isn’t available?
The connection will still be yours. We’ll send you and the home shopper an email introduction so you can follow up and find an alternative time that works for both of you when the property is available.
What if I’m not able to quickly tell if the home is available?
That’s not a problem — the connection will still be yours. We’ll send you their contact info and let them know that while the tour isn’t confirmed yet, you’ll be reaching out soon to confirm a time or provide alternatives.
How do I ensure my safety on a tour?
Once you’re connected with the home shopper, plan your tour the same way you would for any other real estate lead. For example, you could suggest meeting at another location before continuing on to the home.
Why do you allow tours to be requested as little as 2.5-3 hours ahead of time?
To maximize the number of potential connections, we want to allow home shoppers the option to request a time that’s most convenient for them. We’ll continue to optimize this option over time to ensure the best experience for both agents and shoppers. As with all connections, you can decline the connection if you aren’t available at that time. We'll try the next available agent, and you won't lose your place in the queue. We'll still call you with the next opportunity.
What if a connection wants to view more than one home?
When we call to connect you with a home shopper who wants to schedule a tour, we'll also let you know if they're interested in more than one property. You can work with the home shopper to line up additional home tours at a time that works for both of you.
