Zillow’s Touring Agreement
The Touring Agreement is an optional, written agreement between agent and buyer that will be incorporated into the buyers’ and agents’ experiences for touring connections.
Partners can choose to activate the Touring Agreement for themselves and for their team members, and to have it sent automatically to their tour connections on their behalf or to manually send them to each tour connection.
The Touring agreement can also be manually sent to any other connection from the PA app and from Follow Up Boss (using the ZPA embedded app).
Zillow's Touring Agreement is the first opportunity for agents to educate buyers on the value of a buyer’s representation agreement, and help lay a foundation for agents to begin conversations with the buyer once they meet in person. By leveraging Zillow’s brand trust with the buyer, agents and buyers can enter the first showing with a signed touring agreement in hand. Remember to consult with your broker before using any new forms.
Touring Agreement Overview
- The Zillow Touring Agreement is a written agreement between a Zillow Premier Agent partner and buyer who has requested a tour on Zillow.
- Each state-specific Touring Agreement was developed with compliance in mind
- Acknowledges the buyer does not have a signed exclusive buyer agency agreement
- Non-Exclusive (your buyer representation agreement will follow)
- Covers touring services for seven days to allow for scheduling flexibility
- No fee required for touring services
How does the Touring Agreement work?
Touring Agreement Buyer and Agent Experience video
Buyer Experience
- The buyer will receive an email from Zillow letting them know they have a Touring Agreement to complete
- Tapping on “View agreement” will take the buyer to Zillow where they can review the Touring Agreement
- The buyer can learn more or view the agreement
- The buyer can Accept and Sign digitally or opt to sign at the home
- Once the buyer completes signing, both parties (+ your team lead cc’d) will receive an email with a link to the executed agreement
- After signing the Touring Agreement, the buyer will receive an email preparing them for next steps.
Agent Experience
- For any type of tour lead - Real-time tour or Standard tour, agents will receive those connections as usual - a phone call via the Premier Agent app (no changes to this process)
- For agents who have activated the Touring Agreement, upon accepting the tour lead, Zillow will automatically send the buyer the agent’s signed Touring Agreement on their behalf, if they choose to have “auto-send” enabled. If not, the agent can still manually send the signed Touring Agreement after each touring connection call.
- Agents will see confirmation that an agreement has been sent to the buyer on the post-connect screen for both standard and real-time tour connections
- Agents will also have the ability to manually send a Touring Agreement to any of their connections from the contact page in the PA app and in Follow Up Boss (through the Zillow Premier Agent embedded app, on the Tour tab), as well as see the status of the Touring Agreement signature (Not sent, Sent, Buyer signed, Expired).

Is the Touring Agreement property specific? Is it necessary to have multiple signed touring agreements if a buyer has multiple tour requests? | No. The Touring Agreement also serves to prevent the same buyer and agent from having to sign new agreements for each new home tour within the 7-day period. |
Can the 7-day agreement be extended? What happens if the buyer wants to tour a home with the agent after the 7-day period? | The Touring Agreement can be extended by clicking “resend agreement”. |
Can agents edit the Touring Agreement? Can it be customized? | Currently, the Touring Agreement is not able to be customized. Agents are able to edit the Brokerage name, Agent name, license number, and date fields in the form. |
How is Zillow educating buyers about the NAR changes and the Touring Agreement? |
Zillow provides buyers with information about what a Touring Agreement is, and answers to frequently asked questions (see reference image below) that they can review when they receive the agent’s signed Touring Agreement. Once the buyer signs the Touring Agreement, Zillow will send them an email with more information and resources such as this blog to guide them on next steps. Zillow is also educating buyers about the NAR changes and the value of working with a buyer’s agent through social media posts and other consumer resources such as this page and other communications.
|
What does the buyer see if they are connected with a partner who has not activated the Touring Agreement? | If the agent is not using our Touring Agreement - buyers will not receive Zillow-branded comms asking them to sign an agreement. |
Can Referral Agents activate the Touring Agreement? | Not at this time. We are currently working on enabling the Touring Agreement for referral agents and will share an update when available. |
I see the button to Send Agreement on my Contacts page but I am unable to send it, why? |
The Touring Agreement currently only works for Zillow sourced leads, we are working on a solution for Trulia sourced leads. Agents can identify if a lead is Trulia sourced by opening the Contact page and checking on the right hand side, above the “View Contact” blue button.
|
Why is Mississippi not integrated into the tour connection experience? |
Mississippi requires that the ‘Mississippi Working with a Real Estate Broker’ disclosure is sent before or at the same time as the Touring Agreement. Since the functionality to support something like this would require a completely new experience flow, Zillow is making the PDF available to agents. |
What do Mississippi agents need to do to use the Touring Agreement? |
Mississippi agents can download the PDF of the Mississippi state-specific Touring Agreement to send to their touring connections prior to a scheduled tour. State law requires that the ‘Mississippi Working with a Real Estate Broker’ disclosure form is provided to a client before any agreement is entered into. The form can be found here. |
