You can choose from a variety of additional coverages to customize your policy, including:
Coverage for your valuables:
- Scheduled Personal Property Coverage: This endorsement can be used to increase your policy limits to cover more expensive items and to protect these items from a greater number of hazards.
- Replacement Cost Coverage on Personal Property: This optional coverage enables you to replace stolen or destroyed personal property with items of like kind and quality without deduction for depreciation.
- Special Personal Property Coverage: This endorsement insures your personal property against additional risks of physical loss, subject to certain exclusions. For example, if you drop or spill water on your phone or laptop and it gets damaged.
- Special Computer Coverage: This optional coverage insures your computer against additional risks of physical loss, subject to certain exclusions. For example, this endorsement provides coverage if you accidentally spill a glass of water on your computer or accidentally drop it.
- Increased Limits on Personal Property in Storage: This endorsement increases the amount of coverage available for property that is stored in a self-storage unit.
Identity Fraud Expense Coverage
Recovering from identity theft can be time-consuming and costly. In the event your identity is stolen, this endorsement covers up to $15,000 of expenses you incur as a direct result of identity theft, subject to a $500 deductible.
Personal Injury
With this endorsement, you can extend the limit of Personal Liability on your renters policy to cover you against libel, slander, and invasion of privacy.
Water Back Up and Sump Overflow Coverage
This optional coverage pays for direct physical loss due to water backing up through sewers or drains and water that overflows from a sump. This is not flood coverage, which is not covered by Renters Insurance and requires a separate policy.
Equipment Breakdown Coverage
Equipment Breakdown coverage can help pay for damage to any appliances or technology you own if they are damaged due to a mechanical or electrical breakdown. If you own your appliances, AC window unit or lawn mower, they would be protected with this additional coverage. Keep in mindthat normal wear and tear isn’t covered.
